How did we get it all wrong in the name of romance, feminism, etc

You know there is a problem when we are okay with the lady being the bread winner or the man being a house husband.

Before you throw stones, allow me to paint this mental picture for you. Take this journey to ‘middle earth’ (feels like Hobbit film) with me as I explain my understanding of a relationship.

Genesis 3 (NIV)

17 To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

“Cursed is the ground because of you;
    through painful toil you will eat food from it
    all the days of your life.
18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
    and you will eat the plants of the field.
19 By the sweat of your brow
    you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
    since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
    and to dust you will return.”

20 Adam[c] named his wife Eve,[d] because she would become the mother of all the living.

We live in a world where families survive on two incomes (the husband and the wife). Changing times where both the mother and the father parent the child; maternity and paternity by law is allowed.

A community that accepts the husband to be a stay-at-home dad as the mother goes to win bread for the family. A society where more and more men (no longer a small number) take a back seat as their women sort the bills and cater for all the date expenses. A community where the hunter has now become the hunted and this has made the once hunter to lay back and wait for the hunt.

A society where men have abandoned their roles of being the protectors and providers of the home and left their women to win bread for the family. A society that has given birth to women who feel they can do without men and for that matter do even better than men in all aspects. A society that has made it possible to see more and more successful women than men in corporate and business world.

A community that has abandoned the boy child and promoted the rights of the girl child. Yet, still allows harassment of women gunning for top posts and political seats, as ‘seats’ reserved for men.
